Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority(YGPA) is holding their 7th international forum under the name of 'The inauguration of YGPA and a strategy for the value added port'. The forum will be held from 15th until 17th Aug. at the Renaissance Hotel, Seoul marking the 1st anniversary of YGPA.
While 1,200 port and logistics industry people are supposed to attend, this forum is focused on actual investment promotion targeting shipowners, shippers and other logistics firms breaking from the existing conference-oriented event. There will be a variety of programs at the forum including a presentation meeting for investment promotion, logistics exhibition and competitions that would be enough to spark interest of the participants.
Marking the 1st anniversary as of 19th Aug., YGPA expects this forum to be a good opportunity to leap into a global port beyond North East Asia.
Being located in the middle of North East Asia and main international route, the port of Gwangyang is free from disasters as surrounded by natural breakwater and also has deep draft enabling ultra large vessels to enter and go out without any trouble.
The port of Gwangyang has stevedoring capacity of 5.48 million TEUs with high-tech container terminals(84 berths) as well as 3.88 million ㎡ size of the hinterland and is ranked 16th in the world ports handling annual 234 million tons of cargo.
