△ Please advise us what your project is about.
That is to build international passenger pier and terminal enabling 8 passenger ships including 150,000 ton class cruise vessel to berth simultaneously.
Considering 2014 Asian Game in Inchon, we plan to partially open the ultra large cruise ship's terminal by the time Asian Game starts. Then overall pier and terminal will be completed by 2016.
New construction is expected to solve some operation problems, especially customers' chaos and inconvenience derived from the fact that pier and terminal have been dually operated.
△ It seems that full government support is absolutely required, doesn't it?
Some private enterprises ever gave up this project on the grounds of low profitability, however, we appealed to the government explaining its significance and need and then finally secured 140 billion Won of budget for the construction.
Nevertheless, the cost is predicted to increase remarkably as the ground has been found to be not firm enough. 2 cruise ship berths are being prepared for Asian Game and its entry road will be built aided by additional budget of 35 billion Won from the government.
With regards to the cost to develop hinterlands site behind the terminal, we are asking the government to balance with another ports such as Kwangyang and Busan that received 100% and 50% of the budgets each.
△ To where will the priority given regarding the construction of cruise terminal?
The exclusive cruise terminal has been designed to stand up to the gale at a speed of 55 m/s. Pier and terminal will have secured safety measures including an earthquake-resistant design.
Particularly we plan to install shopping complex and marine theme space on upper part of the terminal in order to meet demand for tourism.
