Hyundai Merchant Marine(HMM) received an award for top leading company in Korean transportation i ndus try f rom CDP(Carbon Disclosure Project) committee of
Korea on 30 October.

This is two years' consecutive award winning.

Earlier, HMM's 60,000 ton class bulk ship 'Pacific Pride' achieved a certificate for environment friendly vessel from Korean Register(KR) in
late August.

As the 'Pacific Pride' is equipped with PBCF(Propeller Boss Cap With Fin), the ship's energy efficiency
has turned out to be 10% higher than the vessels in the same class.

Besides, the company got a certificate for 'Green Management System' from Korea Accreditation Board in November last year and obtained ISO 14000's accreditation in 1996 for the first time in the world shipping industry.

"This award signifies that our continuous effort to promote green management has been recognized.

Despite difficult economic environments, we will try to keep it sustainable." said a senior staff of HMM.

HMM has a long term plan to reduce green house gases by 17% as of 2008 until 2015, particularly
the target for container vessels that have more exhaust gases will be up to 24%. The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an organization based in the United Kingdom which works with
shareholders and corporations claiming to disclose the greenhouse gas emissions of major corporations.
