UPS announced on 30t Oct. that a new daily flight between Zhengzhou, the capital city in China's Henan Province, and Inchon in South Korea has been launched.
The opening of the new UPS flight was supported by Chinese government.
"Direct flights from Inchon to UPS's intra-Asia hub in Shenzhen will open new opportunities for the companies in Zhengzhou a rea that want to expand export with in Asia.
Further, they will benefit from Inchon's cor responding fl ight connections to thei r key export markets in the U.S. and Europe." commented a staff of UPS.
"As a lot of manufacturers move their facilities to inland China, there is an increasing demand for logistics and transportation services in this region," said Richard Loi, the President of UPS China.
"The UPS Zhengzhou gateway will speed access to key markets globally by commitment to strengthening the network in China and listening to the voices of our customers." Mr. Guo Gengmao, a governor of Henan province stated in this regard "Henan province is strategically located in the center of Northern China and has achieved rapid economic development for the past few years.
The opening of UPS's flight is expected to facilitate further economic development in the province of Henan and China.
Through UPS's enhanced logistics network, I believe Zhengzhou will turn itself into a major trade hub for central northern China in the near future." Zhengzhou has been playing a key role as an economic driver in the central northern region in recent years, and emerging as a next high-tech manufacturing area in China.
In addition to the electronics sector, other key industries in the area also have achieved impressive growth, particularly in the automotive, machinery and aluminium manufacturing sectors.
Last year Zhengzhou was ranked 1st in foreign trade growth in all of China and successfully attracted foreign direct investment.
As for the flight schedule, UPS will deploy a Boeing 767 cargo plane for five days a week departing from Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport.
